Happy Sunday!
This week, it reached 74 degrees. Clamming is open, some schools are on Spring Break, and the town is bustling. All that sunshine got me excited about my travel plans for this spring and summer.
My adventures kick off when I visit the family in Seattle in April and May. Around the end of May, I’ll be heading to Jacksonville, Oregon, and out to Applegate to visit some good friends. Jacksonville is the site of the next Sadie Wilkins story. I’m trying something different with the second book.
In my research, I’ve discovered that authors often serialize books after publication. So, instead of publishing “Gold Rush” as a serial while I write it, I’m going to write it this summer while I’m adventuring and publish it in print first. The photo I used this week is another idea for the book cover. I’ll render the finished illustration by hand and use sketches from my time in Jacksonville for the cover and interior illustrations.
