Feed Your Head offers a free monthly newsletter on the first Sunday of each month with links to paranormal fiction, tech horror, micro-fiction, short stories, and serials by S.L. Stallings and other Substack authors.
If you follow the Feed Your Head Substack, you’ll also find ‘web-only’ stories published throughout the month. After 30 days, posts automatically become paywalled.
As always, Thank you for supporting my writing habit. I appreciate your time. It’s as precious (or more so) than money.

Dear Readers,
Substack is an experiment for me. I’ve been playing around here for a little over a year. I make changes to my stack regularly, as I get inspired. Get the latest updates in the free monthly newsletter, beginning November 3, 2024.
October Round-Up
I made a push for serial fiction mid-month. This article covers history and contains links to serials on Substack. I actively update the reading list to promote other writers. One of the things I love about this platform is the support we get from our peers.

Most of you know I’ve been working on the serial, “The Truth About Sadie Wilkins” since I started this Substack. The story has gone through several revisions and I’ve completed the first novella in the series, East Shady Grove Cemetery.
There are 7 episodes (chapters) in the finished digital serial, even though I had reached as far as 12 chapters at one point. I was recently revising the 10th episode and realized that I was digging into another story. So, I found a logical stopping point for the online draft and set the other episodes aside to simmer for a bit.
Paid Subscribers can read the serial on Substack and will get a copy of the printed book in 2025. I guarantee you there will be twists and turns that aren’t in the online version.

OPT-IN
This anthology is in development. In its current iteration, I see it as an anthology similar to the television series Black Mirror. OPT-IN starts off with the longest story about an app with a mind of its own. The two following stories are also tech-related horror/ thrillers with elements of paranormal fiction. These stories are complete. In other words, any revisions will be exclusively in print.

Finally, I got a bump from some of my favorite writers on Substack this month, so I want to return the favor!
has been a great supporter. Thank you for the inspiration! writes stories that are too freakin’ scary for me to read. I just can’t, but I still love his work. It engulfs me in a matter of seconds and I run. You might be more brave. Check it out.My work was included in Vol. 1 of the OctoBOO issue with Team Halloween this year. It’s a real honor to be on this list with so many talented writers.
supports long-form literary fiction and non-fiction. He’s a little more high-brow and occasionally deems my work worthy.Recently, I’ve become enamored with
. Although she doesn’t write horror (as far as I know), she supports writers, and her work lights me up.***

I’ve also started a profile on Buy Me A Coffee. Apparently, all the cool kids are doing it. We’ll see how it goes. Like I said, I’m always up for an experiment. I have some juicy plans for it that will launch in 2025.
